God Speed Ministry, an organization that brings the church to the motorsports community, is proud to announce the addition of Joy Scott as its new Ministry Communications Specialist. Joy will create and manage content for the ministry’s social media platforms as well as handle public relations responsibilities. “I’m excited about helping God Speed Ministry strengthen its already steadfast relationships with its racing family. My role is to make it easier for people to develop a relationship with God by keeping everyone in the know about God Speed Ministry’s services and reach.”
Joy has extensive newspaper reporting experience, having written for North Carolina newspapers The Journal and The Chronicle in Winston-Salem, The Star-News in Wilmington, and The Star in Shelby. She became the first editor of The Star’s website, garnering the attention of journalists throughout the country for its innovation. Joy also has several years of experience teaching community college instructors how to use online tools for their classes.
She also has a connection to motorsports. “Racing is not entirely new to me,” she says. “I have fond memories of attending a NASCAR race. I loved smelling the rubber burning on the track.”
God Speed Ministry Co-Founder and Lead Chaplain Renee Bingham says “God Speed Ministry is blessed to have Joy Scott join our team to reach the motorsports nation with the love of God. Joy’s talents and skills are excellent and will serve this ministry extremely well. But it is her heart to impact people for good that is her highest asset. We know she will be a blessing to all she encounters. “ Introduce yourself to Joy at joy@godspeedministry.com.
