GOD SPEED MINISTRY PARTNERS WITH FEED THE CHILDREN WITH ‘CHANGE A CHILD’S LIFE’ KINGS MTN, NC , May 5, 2008: Every night children right here in the United States go to bed hungry. Over 4 million children in the U.S. are hungry, according to statistics. This is unacceptable. We can and must do something to change this. Together, we can Change a Child’s Life. God Speed Ministry, Inc. has partnered with Feed The Children to help feed children in each U.S. city that hosts an IHRA National Event. Feed The Children is a Christian, nonprofit relief organization that delivers food, medicine, clothing and other necessities to individuals, children and families who lack these essentials due to famine, war, poverty, or natural disaster. Your pocket change can significantly change a child’s life when pooled together with the change of other like-minded people. At each IHRA National Event in the US, God Speed Ministry will have jars located at the concession stands, manufacturers’ midway, and various racer pits for you to deposit your coins or other monies for these hungry children. The money collected at each IHRA event will be used to feed the hungry children in the USA. “This is a great opportunity for IHRA racers and fans to make a difference everywhere we go. We know the goodness in the hearts of our IHRA family. Now we can show that to the world, and especially to these hungry children,” states God Speed Ministry president, Renee Bingham. “It is totally unacceptable that children are hungry here in the U.S. We can and will do something about changing children’s lives for the better.” In 2001, statistics for the four counties around Milan Dragway – Oakland, Wayne, Livingston and Macomb - showed that there were 4,145,527 people living in poverty. 27% of these individuals were under the age of 18. 33% of households with children in that area reported experiencing hunger and among the same number reported having to choose between buying food or paying for their utilities. Feed The Children helped feed nearly ½ million people in 2001. Seven years later, there are even more in need. Let’s do something about it. Help us ‘Change a Child’s Life’.
