"CALLING THE SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF GOD"

2010 God Speed Ministry Conference and Training Seminar

Seminar on Saturday Jan. 16, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with an hour for lunch break. Registration required.

Sunday morning Worship, Jan. 17, 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. open to everyone

Do you know your inheritance and rights as a son or daughter of God?  Being a child of God is one thing; becoming a son or daughter of God has very special meaning and responsibilities

and great resources and potential.   We must grow up into the fullness of God.

It is our desire to equip believers to understand and be ready to fully

participate in the work of God as He transforms the church "that he might

present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such

thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish."   Ephesians 5:27

Join us for “gifted teaching,” encouragement and fellowship.

“Christianity is always a group trip.”  Stan Purdum

Registration form can be found at registration or call 704-473-4212.

Comments from last year's seminar:

"I don't even know how to express our feelings of gratitude for the greatest God time of our lives!  After this seminar I feel that this year I will be more effective and better equipped by the Grace of God, to go to the tracks and be much more intentional in ministry!" - Carol Rix

"I just want to thank you so much for your spiritual gifts which you gave to us this past weekend.  To bad it didn’t last a little longer…I know that Rich and I felt so renewed and refreshed and it is such a pleasure to see God’s hand in how you manage God Speed…Praise The Lord…" -Janette Guy

Update Dec. 1, 2009

We are now ready to start collecting items for Project Hope.  Just to give you an update on what has been done so far, Alan and I made a trip to Pineville on November 20, stopping in North Wilkesboro to pick up food from a food bank there to re-stock the one in Pineville which had been closed for about three months.  We saw first hand that the need in this community is great.

If you have things for us to pick up, give us a call at home: 704-636-5527, or Maries cell phone 704-267-4344 after 3:15 pm on weekdays, and we'll work out the details.  Alan and I both have the week of December 14 off to prepare for the trip and we will leave on the morning of the 18th.  If anyone was considering purchasing a wagon, Northern Tool and Equipment has a small one on sale for under $50.00 until December 6th.  Alan purchased one last night.  If you get one, Alan asks that you don't assemble it so it will pack better.  He'll assemble them once we get there.
Thanks for all your help,
Marie & Alan Waller

ONE OF WYOMING COUNTY'S MOST  VALUABLE ASSETS NEEDS MIRACLE

...A seven year old boy's dying wish for a little red wagon, an 86 year old widows need for a church where she feels loved and accepted and a 6 year olds crying from severe hunger pangs, all have been routinely ministered to as part of Pastor Lee Bowling's love and compassion as part of his ministry at the Pentecostal Community Church and the Miracle Revival Outreach Center Food Bank  in Ravencliff, West Virginia.  However, these kinds of acts of love and compassion are about to become a thing of the past unless Pastor Bowling and his ministry receives a "must have " miracle by January.

Although this ministry is located in Wyoming County, it actually serves the needy in parts of 5 counties and has been doing so for two years. The ministry gives much needed food to more than 350 families every month.  They also maintain a church kitchen where the ladies of the church cook hot, nutritious meals for anyone who wants to come and eat, free of charge.  The meals are delivered to all elderly and shut-ins who are not able to get to the church to eat.  Last year at Christmas, the church served Christmas dinner to more than 200 kids, as well as several hundred adults and it was all free of charge.  Pastor Bowling bought, with his own money, and presented as many as five special gifts for each person who attended. Pastor Bowling and the church also give free school supplies to every kid who needs them, every year the week before the school term begins.
These are just a few of the services provided to needy families in these 5 counties.   Now, without some much-needed help, it is all about to come to an end.

. They are 501©-3, tax-exempt, so all gifts and donations to the church are tax-deductible.  The people of Wyoming, as well as Raleigh, Mingo, McDowell, Mercer and Logan Counties, would consider this a great tragedy if this ministry has to go under.  So, they're asking for help from everyone.

If you want to help this important effort, please make all checks and money orders out to either the Miracle Revival Outreach Center or the Pentecostal Community Church and mail it to the ministry at

P. O. Box 1687, Pineville, West Virginia  24874.  If you have any questions or need more information, please call (304) 202-2072  If no one is there when you call, please leave your name and phone number and, Pastor Bowling or some will return your call.

Pastor Needs your help with Project hope\"Christmas Program\"
This year the goal is to help 500 kids. Pastor Bowling is working with Marie Waller Ministries of N.C and Joe and Virginia Earlywine also of N.C. to help bring a better Christmas for the kids of West Virginia. Our Question to you is will you join the team to help a special boy or girl this coming seasons.

BINGO AND SPAGHETTI AT ROCKINGHAM WORLD FINALS

What do spaghetti and Bingo have in common with the IHRA World Finals?  Well, this year they’re the combination for a Thursday night Pit Party! Some of the best drag racers in the country are descending upon Rockingham Dragway on October 22-25 to battle out for World Championship titles. To us, that sounds like a pretty good reason to celebrate! So on Thursday night, following time runs for the Sports National, God Speed Ministry is hosting a Spaghetti Supper and Bingo Tournament. Dinner will begin at 7 with games to follow at 8. Bingo will be complete with prizes. Other games, such as ladder golf and bag toss will also be on hand. Everyone is invited, so spread the word, come join us and bring a friend!

For more information or to offer a helping hand, contact Renee Bingham at renee@godspeedministry.com.

Special Thanks to our growing list of donors for prizes:

Prayer for Rockingham Spring Nationals

God of heaven and earth, Creator of all,
Hear our cry for order.
You took chaos and created order.
You set the rotation of the planets, sun, moon and stars.
You ordered the seasons and the timing of the day and night.
You made us in Your image.
So we cry for order in our lives and world.
We commit our plans to You for Your glory and pleasure with us.
We commit the work of our hands to You as a testimony and act of worship.
We bless this event in Your name, o God, recognizing that we seek Your pattern of order.
We acknowledge You as God and Lord of all.
We praise You for visions of joyous fans, racers and leadership.
We praise You for predictions of wondrous sights and accomplishments.
We praise You for giving us visions and goals and the ability to attain them.
Blessed be the Name of the Lord for the work He has given us to do and the ability to fulfill it.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
Amen.

GOD SPEED MINISTRY PARTNERS WITH FEED THE CHILDREN WITH ‘CHANGE A CHILD’S LIFE’

KINGS MTN, NC , June 11, 2008:  Every night children right here in the United States go to bed hungry. Over 13 million children in the U.S. are hungry, according to statistics.  As IHRA and God Speed go into the President's Cup Nationals at Maryland Int'l Raceway, God Speed Ministry will again be raising awareness and funds to alleviate the hunger.

In Maryland, 1 of every 10 children are hungry.    This is unacceptable. We can and must do something to change this. Together, we can Change a Child’s Life.  continued

REPORT MAY 27, 2008:    $568.18 raised for Feed The Children at Milan Motor City Nationals. God Speed Ministry is adding to that and sending a check for $1,000 to Feed The Children as part of our commitment to CHANGE A CHILD'S LIFE.

Over the last two years, God Speed Ministry has provided 34,286 lifesaving meals to our country's hungriest children.  We thank you for supporting God Speed Ministry in your donations.  Your gifts have been used to minister to God, "when you did it to the least of these, you did it to me."  Matthew 25:40

GOD SPEED MINISTRY ISSUES A CHALLENGE IN THE RACE AGAINST HUNGER

God Speed Ministry would like to issue a challenge for the upcoming World Finals in Rockingham NC.  The largest amount raised for Feed the Children at a single event thus far is $568. God Speed Ministry believes we can beat that amount. GSM is challenging racers, fans, and sponsors to empty their pocket change and open their hearts to help in the race against hunger.

“If every racer would place a cup in their vehicle and dump all their loose change in it after every stop as they travel to the Sooner Nationals in Tulsa, we could well exceed previous totals.  One lady did this and had nearly $20.00 worth of change that she donated to Feed The Children.  Our purpose is to make this something that becomes part of our life style and that everyone, including our children, can participate in.  I believe everyone who does this will be amazed at what we could do individually and collectively to Feed The Children here in the USA,” stated Rev. Renee Bingham, President of God Speed Ministry, Inc.  “We can and must do something to take care of the hungry children here in the USA.  It is unacceptable that any child goes to bed hungry when we have the means to help them.”

God Speed Ministry would like to thank everyone who has helped raise money for Feed the Children. So far this year GSM, with the help of IHRA racers and fans, has raised over $1000 that will go directly to feed hungry children here in the United States.

Colorful donation boxes will be located at the God Speed Ministry display and racers’ pit areas.

____________________________________________

KINGS MTN, NC, July 24, 2008:  God Speed Ministry is continuing a partnership with Feed The Children to help feed hungry children in the United States. Many people don’t realize that extreme poverty and hunger are a problem in our own backyards, but, unfortunately, this is the reality. To help combat this, God Speed Ministry formed a partnership with Feed The Children, an international, non-profit relief organization which avidly combats hunger in the United States and around the world.

At the Motor City Nationals God Speed Ministry, with the help of racers, crew, fans and sponsors, was able to raise over $500 that went directly to help feed American children. GSM will continue this effort at the upcoming Northern Nationals. Donation sites will be located at the GSM pit area and throughout the pits.

GSM welcomes all Northern Nationals participants and attendees to join them in this fight against hunger.  To feed an entire family for a month only takes $14. Such a small amount may not seem like much, but to an empty stomach it can mean a great deal. Drop your change or whatever you can spare into the donation boxes and posts at the Northern Nationals and help GSM change a child’s life.

MORE

“More!
More power, more money, more time, more health,”
Is the cry of so many people in today’s world.
We seek to squelch the uproar in our souls with more of the world’s goods.
But today, God, we come to seek You and Your plan for our lives.
You have good thoughts about us and plans for a future
You want us to have more peace, love and joy.
You want us to have more enjoyment in our everyday lives.
You want to love us more,
Talk to us more,
Be with us more.
So in our race for more, let us take the time to
“Be still and know that you are God.”
And in so doing may we find more.
More joy in the moment,
More smiles to share,
More time to help,
More peace about ourselves and who we are,
More love for You and others.
Ultimately, God, give us MORE of You.
More of Your plans for this race and our lives,
More safety in our racing and traveling,
More of Your love that casts out fear,
More of Your strength in our weaknesses,
More of Your healing for our diseases,
More awareness of You in all our comings and goings.
More, God, More,
More of Your Kingdom here on earth as it is in heaven.
More consciousness of You in every thing and every moment.
For in You is perfection, peace, love and joy.
In You we find our hearts desires.
More praise and glory to You, O God!
Amen.

GOD SPEED MINISTRY SEARCHING FOR DIVISION ONE CHAPLAIN AND OTHER VOLUNTEERS

KINGS MOUNTAIN, NC, Feb. 13, 2008

It is the vision of God Speed Ministry to build a community of faith within the family of IHRA drag racing, its participants, sponsors, officials and fans. With this we are committed to serving this community by providing a chaplain at every IHRA divisional and national event.

We are currently searching for a chaplain to serve in IHRA Division One. If you share in our vision and share God’s heart for racers, we welcome the opportunity to talk to you more about investing with us in God’s kingdom.

We encourage everyone to become involved in God’s work on some level. There are numerous opportunities to volunteer with God Speed Ministry. We also encourage you to be involved at your home church. God equips each of us with a unique ability to serve Him.

Should you want more information on volunteering or becoming a God Speed Ministry Chaplain, please visit our website at www.GodSpeedMinistry.com, or call the office at 704-473-4212.

And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.  2 Corinthians 9:8

COMMUNITY BREAKFAST TO BE HELD AT MOORESVILLE DIVISION 9 PRO AM.

Everyone loves free food and Division 9 Pro Am racers are no different. At the Mooresville Dragway Division 9 Pro Am, God Speed Ministry is hosting a Community Breakfast on Sunday March 30th from 8:30-9:30 am. Everyone is welcome to come out and enjoy some good fellowship and food.

We are encouraging everyone to be a part of this event. This potluck style breakfast enables everyone to participate by bringing something to the table, even the tables. We ask that you let us know what you can and will bring so we know that we have enough food for everyone.

If you wish to contribute toward the breakfast, email Renee at renee@godspeedministry.com. All breakfast items are welcomed and needed (meats, eggs, casseroles, cups, drinks, tables, etc).

Everyone is welcome to come whether or not you bring anything. Come and enjoy the food and fellowship! See you there!

Justin Rosenbohm Medical Fund

As most of you know, our NHRA Division 3 Superstreet Champion, Justin Rosenbohm, is fighting many tough battles right now. He is suffering from Von Hippel-Lindau Disease,--a relentless disorder in which tumors invade the body. Some are benign, while others are cancerous.

In the Spring of 2007, Justin lost all of the vision in his left eye due to this disease. Now a year later, Justin has been trying to recover from two brain surgeries, only to be attacked by painful cancerous lesions on both kidneys. There are benign tumors on his right eye and on his spine which will also need future attention, once the cancer on the kidneys is dealt with. He is facing all of this with a lot of courage and determination, and we pray every day for his full recovery.

We have been deeply moved by the outpouring of love and support from this community--though hardly surprised, because to know Justin is to love and respect him. Many of you have been asking what you can do to help. So I wanted to let you all know about the "Justin Rosenbohm Medical Fund" which has been started to help with medical and related expenses. Thankfully there is some medical insurance, although coverage is minimal. Justin and his family are faced with an outstanding number of medical bills, with more to come in the future for additional surgeries and hospital stays. He has been unable to work since his first brain surgery in January.

If you would like to donate, you can do so by sending a check payable to the Justin Rosenbohm Medical Fund, and in the memo line of the check, write in account number 30341759. Please send your check to the following address:
First Central State Bank
1291 Eagle Ridge Road
Le Claire, Ia. 52753

If by chance money is raised above and beyond medical expenses, it will be donated to an organization dedicated to treatment and to finding a cure for Von Hippel-Lindau Disease. Hopefully we can all make a difference in eradicating this devastating disorder.

If someone could post this information on other sites and/or help to get the word out in any other way, that would be very much appreciated as well. We thank you all for your continued support of my nephew and his family.

If you have any questions, you can contact me by email, or you can call Justin's dad Mark, at 563-323-3139.
With much appreciation,
Pam Quinn

God Speed Ministry Announces Saturday Chapel Services

At the request of sportsman racers, God Speed Ministry is pleased to announce the addition of Saturday morning Chapel Services at the IHRA National Events for 2007.

“Last year we were asked to add a Saturday service for those sportsman racers who happened to be eliminated during Saturday’s rounds of competition,” said Renee Bingham, God Speed Ministry president.  “Now with the new IHRA format of two complete rounds of sportsman eliminations being run on Saturday, three-fourths of all sportsman racers will complete competition on Saturday.  Many of them will be on the road on Sunday.  The Saturday service is even more needed than when the request was made.”

The Saturday morning Chapel Service will be held at the God Speed Ministry pit area one hour before eliminations begin. At San Antonio, sportsman eliminations begin at 9:00 a.m.  Therefore the first Saturday morning Chapel Service of 2007 will be at 8:00 a.m. in the God Speed Ministry pit area. Rev. Bill Dickerson will be the speaker of the morning..

The Kid’s On Track children service will also be held on Saturday mornings.  “Since most of the children come with the sportsman racers, it only makes sense to have the children’s service on Saturday too,” stated Children’s Chaplain Christy Rice.  “Saturday mornings are for kids.  We want them to be able to enjoy all the benefits of the Treasure Hunt this year.”  The Kid’s On Track children’s church will also be held by children’s Chaplain Sylvia Maedgen at 8:00 a.m. at the Amalie Oil Texas Nationals.

Both Sunday morning Chapel Services will continue to be held on Sunday mornings at 7:30 a.m. and 8:15 a.m.

“We are here to meet the needs of the IHRA family.  We care about the racer, their families and crews, the sponsors, the officials and the fans.  We want to provide service to you as you need it,” expressed Renee.  “Join us for a time of encouragement, worship and praise.”

God Speed Ministry Announces Divisional Chaplains

January 25, 2005

God Speed Ministry is pleased to announce Chaplains for each of the Mr. Gasket Pro Am series.  These are people who have a heart for God and care deeply for the racers of IHRA.  All of them except one couple are racers themselves.  All of them have years of ministry experience to aid them in their service to the IHRA family.

Chaplain for the Patriot Division 1 is Pastor Star Scott and his wife Greer.  Pastor Star Scott is Senior Pastor of Calvary Temple in Sterling, Virginia, where he has ministered since 1973. Calvary Temple is a church where the full counsel of God's Word is believed, taught without compromise, and lived in obedience to Jesus' Lordship.  For the past two decades, Pastor Scott has ministered on radio and television, and traveled internationally teaching the uncompromised Word of God. He has ministered to millions in the Sword of the Spirit miracle rallies, mission trips, and pastors' conferences.  Pastor Star is also the Division 1 Super Rod Champion.  His wife Greer races Quick Rod and is the 2004 President’s Cup Quick Rod Champion.  His trailer is easily recognizable as the Finish the Race team.

Chaplain for the Heat Wave Division 2 is Joe Sannutti and his wife Debbie of Baxley GA.  Joe is a Gideon, the track Chaplain for Montgomery Motorsports Park and has spoken in over a hundred churches throughout his ministry.  His race ministry is Top End Ministry and he offers his trailer as a haven from the stress of racing and the variances of the weather.  Joe operates a custom paint and coating business where he paints a variety of race cars, motorcycles and street vehicles.  Joe will be competing in Top Dragster but is always available to racers at all times.

Chaplain for the Northstars Division 3 is Matt Zapp and his wife Haley.  Zapp is a member and worships locally at Cross Roads Community Church in Madison. During the 2004 calendar year, he was involved in an intense weekly Men’s Ministry discipleship program. “Although I am a relatively young Christian, the challenge of serving the IHRA ministry is something that has weighed heavily upon my heart for the past two seasons. Drag racing is fun and can be rewarding, but serving the Lord provides a greater purpose to the rigorous lifestyle of a traveling racer,” explained Zapp. “My wife and I are convinced that there is more to IHRA than Iron Men and contingency money. It is about the relationships that are forged and the memories made when traveling together.”  You can locate the Zapp family at the track by looking primarily for their blue ’66 Chevelle. Currently Zapp drives for Team Duck Tape with friend, Michael Beard.

Chaplain for the Renegade Division 4 is Rev. Bill Dickerson and wife Jean.  I have always tried to be a follower of my God and became interested in race ministry through my friendship with long time div 4 NHRA Chaplain Mike Fulfer.  At Mike's gentle push and belief that that's where God wanted me I became Chaplain at Houston Raceway Park in 1993.  I continued there until my son started racing at Lone star Raceway in Sealy TX.  In IHRA I then met Jim and Judy Hartley with ICRA and became not only Lone Star's chaplain but div chaplain for IHRA and have had the privilege of serving at every one of the div races since then.  I look forward to a growing and blessed ministry with all God's loyal servants in division 4 and on the national circuit, as well as any where I can be of service will be an honor.

Chaplain for the Thunder Division 5 & Co-chaplain for the extended division 3 is Rev. Floyd & Rev. Diana West.  Diana & Floyd have their own ministry, Victory Light Chapels.  They have a church charter through Full Gospel Churches, International, P.O. Box 505, Anderson, MO. 64831  “We were chartered in 1999.  As for Diana and myself, we have been at Cordova Dragway Park for 8 years.  We arrived on the scene in 1996 during Scott's first race season. We were "officially" named track Chaplains, August of 1997. At that time we were with Racers For Christ.  Having gone through their training program, we were well equipped to serve as Chaplains.” Floyd & Diana will not only minister to the Thunder division Junior Dragster Nationals and Summit Bracket Finals but will cover the Mr. Gasket Pro Am events at Byron and Cordova.

Chaplains for the Raiders Division 9 are Gary & Renee Bingham.  Gary and Renee are members locally at Mary’s Grove United Methodist Church where both have been involved in various ministries spanning over 30 years and hold positions of leadership in the church.  “The opportunity to minister to the family of IHRA is such a tremendous gift and blessing.  We want to be a blessing to you in everything we do.  God has laid before us a vision of what He wants to accomplish in this field of ministry and it so overwhelms us.  We know that there is no way Gary and I can accomplish this on our own but look forward to the involvement of everyone in IHRA who accepts their part in this great outreach that God is about to accomplish.”

The care of the IHRA family is our primary concern here at God Speed Ministry.  You are the reason we are here and have accepted this opportunity to serve you.  By ministering to you, we minister to our Lord Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father.

Prayer for the World Finals at Rockingham

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. Matthew 7:24-25

Heavenly Father,
Your word tells us how the wise man built his house upon the rock
And how that house was able to stand when the storms came.
We have built our season upon the rock solid knowledge of You.
We have invited You to be our Source, our Safety, our Center.
The storms have come: we have battled rain, wind and various trials.
And we have survived them all.
Our house still stands because You have given us a great foundation.
Now as we come to The Rock for the World Finals,
May Your continued Presence be with us.
May You grace us with safety.
May You grace us with success.
May You be glorified in the work of our hands.
May our champions be true heroes.
May all our competitors be great warriors and greater sportsmen.
Thank You that our house still stands and is greater than ever.
Thank You that You have guarded and guided us this year.
To God be the Glory forever and ever.
Amen.

Prayer for the President's Cup Nationals

Dear Heavenly Father,
You tell us to pray for the leaders of our country that there may be peace in the land.  So today we come to lift up the leaders of America:  our President, Senators, House of Representatives and all their staff.  We pray that they may be enlightened with Your wisdom from on high.  We pray for revelation of right from wrong and the courage to stand for the right and good of everyone.  We block evil influence from them and their families and our nation.

Now we also pray for the leadership of IHRA and Maryland International Raceway.  We pray Your most holy blessings on them as they direct their worlds.  We pray for insight and wisdom for them as they make decisions that impact the lives of others, not on the same level as the government of America, but yet with the same emotional consequences.

We pray for the citizens of America and the racers of IHRA.  May we do our part to support our leaders and under gird them with prayer for God's will to be done here on this earth as it is in heaven.  May we live our lives with the same integrity and courage that we desire our leaders to exhibit.  May we regain our focus to make this world a better place and to overcome evil with good.

We invoke Your Presence and Divine influence into the affairs of our nation and our racing.  Grant us Your favor, Your grace, Your protection and Your Divine Presence that our lives may be full of joy and peace.  May You  be glorified in all we do.

Amen.

Prayer for the Motor City Nationals at Milan – Take 2 & Division 2 Team Finals at Alabama Int'l Raceway.

Dear Father,
We come seeking You,
Seeking Your way which is higher than our way,
Seeking Your truth over our knowledge,
Seeking Your love over our emotions,
Seeking Your help to straighten our crooked paths,
Seeking Your good and the good of others over our own.
Lord, we need Your help to finish what we’ve started,
With safety, excellence and integrity.
Bless the work of our hands to Your glory.
May our words be pleasant and beneficial to all.
Bless us as we bless others.
In Jesus name,
Amen.

Prayer for the Canadian Nationals at Toronto

Dear Father,
We thank You for Your manifold blessings.
We thank You for life and liberty.
We thank You for the gift of racing and competition.
We thank You for abilities to achieve more than we thought possible.
We thank You that You are involved in the details of our lives.
We thank You that You love us in spite of our flaws and sins.
We marvel at Your goodness and love.
We praise You for Your patience and mercy.
We thank You for safety in travel and competition.
May we bless You as You have blessed us.
Thank You for this event and the glory of it.
May You be pleased as we bring the work of our hands to You.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
Amen.

Prayer for the Motor City Nationals at Milan Dragway

Heavenly Father,

I pray that we may know You better each day,

That we may see You in our every day events.

May we see Your protection as we race and travel.

May we feel Your love in the sun and the breeze.

May we sense Your nearness even in the hurriedness of our lives.

May we see Your image in every person we meet.

May we seek Your highest good for us as well as our competitors.

May You find joy in the work of our hands and attitudes.

May we truly live life to the max as You intended.

Guard us from harm and evil.

Let the elements enhance the event.

May our plans succeed and prosper.

May we remember to give You thanks for your many blessings.

Amen.

Prayer for the Northern Nationals

Dear Father,
Thank You for Your love and mercy.
Thank You for Your many, many blessings.
You have favored us with Your grace
In great crowds and great racing.
You have equipped us to overcome obstacles and succeed.
May Your grace and goodness continue to be with us
As we go into this next event.
Grant us safety as we travel, work and race.
Grant us good weather and good spirits.
May we best at our best in all we do and
May we give You the praise and glory.
Amen.

Prayer for the North American Nationals

Dear Heavenly Father,
Excellence and perfection in all the world was your original design.
Because You don’t change and are the same yesterday, today and tomorrow
That is still Your intention for this world and for each person.
We stand with You for excellence and perfection.
We ask for excellence in weather, attendance, performances and attitudes.
May we reach the heights of our abilities and may You add Your touch to our best.
May life be more about others and not just ourselves.
May the work of our hands be pleasing in Your sight.
May the words of our mouths and the mediations of our hearts be acceptable to You.
And may we remember that our greatest achievements in this life is not what we do for ourselves
But what we help others achieve in their lives.
For that is when we most fulfill our purpose as human beings created in Your image.
We thank You, O God, for Your multitude of blessings.
And we Praise You, for loving us and being a part of our daily lives.
And in all things, may You be glorified.
Amen.

Pray for Gary, Renee & Lisa Bingham as they minister at the North American Nationals in Epping NH August 10 -12.

The following note was included in an offering from Scooter, Jamie & Cameron Choate.  It really touched our hearts (Bill and Renee) to know that even in all their trials, they found joy in giving back to God because of what He has given to them.  What a testimony!

Preacher Bill,

I have not been to the races in a while, therefore I have not been able to feed the wooden box you have at the Sunday services lately.  As much as the Lord has blessed my family, it gives me joy to be able to do so.

We love you,

Scooter

The Cameron Miracle continues....

At the Pine Valley TX Pro Am event this weekend, July 14 & 15, a donation jar was set out to help the Choate family with Cameron's medical bills.  By mid-Sunday afternoon, there was over $3700 in the jar.

Then Tony Gray took it upon himself to issue a challenge to all the race teams to match or beat his donation for Cameron.  Texans do things big and they don't back down from a challenge.  They rose to the occasion.

Racer after racer began to dig deep.  Many of them signed over their winnings to the fund for Cameron.  People sought out Preacher Bill to hand him their donations personally.

Some of the children went among their own and collected over $30 in coins.  Their collection also included cards and other trinkets to brighten her day.

T-shirts had been printed up as a fund raiser prior to the event.  Their sales raised $857 for Cameron.

By the end of the night, the grand total was tallied.  The Division 4 racers at Pine Valley had donated $11,210 for Cameron!!!!!

Thanks to Tony Gray for being the catalyst in this awesome out pouring of love for one of our IHRA and God Speed family members.

If you would like to make a donation to help with Cameron's medical bills, you may send to  God Speed Ministry, 141 E. A. Bingham Road, Kings Mountain, NC 28086.  Write "Cameron" on it and we will forward it to the Choate family.

Godspeed.

PRAYER FOR TULSA SOONER NATIONALS

Father,

You spoke through the prophet Ezekiel to tell us:

"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.

See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.”

A new beginning is happening in Tulsa this weekend, Lord.

A beginning You have ordained & have empowered us to bring into being.

We thank You for the work of our hands and the sweat of our brows,

the imagination of our minds and will of our hearts

that have been Your instruments of design and accomplishment.

Now let everything and everyone come together

to complete this event as a praise and worship to You.

May we travel in safety, race in grace and speed,

fellowship in harmony – each part unique and needed,

and give You the praise and glory for this new thing You have done and are doing.

All glory and honor be unto You.

Amen

Dear God,
I thank You for another year, another season, a fresh beginning;
We thank You for past success that gives us a great foundation upon which to build this year.
You have blessed the work of our hands and allowed us to reach higher speeds and faster E.T.s, greater success than ever; and overcome obstacles of weather and contrary conditions that we may succeed in the gifts You have placed within us and in our lives.
So we come to You today, to offer You this year.
We offer You the best we have within us that we may glorify You.
We leave nothing on the table but offer You our utmost.
May Your hand be upon us to keep us safe, keep us on track, keep us in peace and safety.
May all the world may know that there is something different, something special about the IHRA family. May we show Your goodness and grace as we exert our abilities in this new season.
May You be glorified in all we do.
And may we never forget to give You thanks.

Bitsy Satterly - had extensive back surgery on July 31st. Bitsy has been up and moving around.  He is in alot of pain, but knows that it will pass.  He is having more trouble with not having a cigarette than anything else.  We both really appreciate your prayers and all your support.  My mom started radiation last Thursday and I am trying to be strong so that I can take care of both of them.  Bitsy seem to be getting really depressed and I'm sure that part of it is because he misses everyone at the track.  I would really appreciate you putting our address on the web.  I hope that you and your family are doing well and that you all are safe and happy.
Thank you so much,

True Meaning of Christmas
http://llerrah.com/truemeaningofchristmas.htm

LETTER FROM JESUS:

It has come to my attention that many of you are upset that folks are taking My name out of the season. Maybe you've forgotten that I wasn't actually born during this time of the year and that it was some of your predecessors who decided to celebrate My birthday on what was actually a time of pagan festival. Although, I do appreciate being remembered anytime.

How I personally feel about this celebration can probably be most easily understood by those of you who have been blessed with children of your own. I don't care what you call the day. If you want to celebrate My birth just, GET ALONG AND LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

Now, having said that let Me go on. If it bothers you that the town in which you live doesn't allow a scene depicting My birth, then just get rid of a couple of Santas and snowmen and put in a small Nativity scene on your own front lawn. If all My followers did that there wouldn't be any need for such a scene on the town square because there would be many of them all around town.

Stop worrying about the fact that people are calling the tree a holiday tree, instead of a Christmas tree. It was I who made all trees. You can remember Me anytime you see any tree. Decorate a grape vine if you wish: I actually spoke of that one in a teaching, explaining who I am in relation to you and what each of our tasks were. If you have forgotten that one, look up John 15: 1 - 8.

If you want to give Me a present in remembrance of My birth here is my wish list. Choose something from it:

1. Instead of writing protest letters objecting to the way My birthday is being celebrated, write letters of love and hope to soldiers away from home. They are terribly afraid and lonely this time of year. I know, they tell Me all the time.

2. Visit someone in a nursing home.. You don't have to know them personally. They just need to know that someone cares about them.

3. Instead of writing George complaining about the wording on the cards his staff sent out this year, why don't you write and tell him that you'll be praying for him and his family this year. Then follow up. It will be nice hearing from you again.

4. Instead of giving your children a lot of gifts you can't afford and they don't need, spend time with them. Tell them the
story of My birth, and why I came to live with you down here. Hold them in your arms and remind them that I love them.

5. Pick someone that has hurt you in the past and forgive him or her.

6. Did you know that someone in your town will attempt to take their own life this season because they feel so alone and hopeless?  Since you don't know who that person is, try giving everyone you meet a warm smile it could make the difference.

7. Instead of nit picking about what the retailer in your town calls the holiday, be patient with the people who work there. Give them a warm smile and a kind word. Even if they aren't allowed to wish you a "Merry Christmas" that doesn't keep you from wishing them one. Then stop shopping there on Sunday. If the store didn't make so much money on that day they'd close and let their employees spend the day at home with their families.

8. If you really want to make a difference, support a missionary, especially one who takes My love and Good News to those who have never heard My name.

9. Here's a good one. There are individuals and whole families in your town who not only will have no "Christmas" tree, but neither will they have any presents to give or receive. If you don't know them, buy some food and a few gifts and give them to the Salvation Army or some other charity which believes in Me and they will make the delivery for you.

10. Finally, if you want to make a statement about your belief in and loyalty to Me, then behave like a Christian. Don't do things in secret that you wouldn't do in My presence. Let people know by your actions that you are one of mine.

Don't forget; I am God and can take care of Myself. Just love Me and do what I have told you to do. I'll take care of all the rest. Check out the list above and get to work; time is short. I'll help you, but the ball is now in your court. And do have a most blessed Christmas with all those whom you love and remember -

I LOVE YOU,

JESUS

Christians Uniting to Safeguard Christmas

Many individuals in our nation have been convinced by the ACLU and other organizations that wish to quell public religious expression that simple expressions of the Christmas season are promotions of religion. Nothing could be further from the truth.

I’m urging people to get involved in this issue so that we can turn back these anti-Christmas organizations' efforts to stifle public Christmas expressions. details

Sherrill was a lady who endeared herself to those who had the privilege

of meeting and knowing her.  Our lives are dimmer today with the loss

of Sherrill from our midst.  But heaven is brighter as Sherrill joins the

great crowd of heaven in celebrating her arrival there.

Godspeed, Sherrill.  We miss you now but shall join you one day!

The quote of the month is by Jay Leno:
With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks,
"Are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?

Do you believe in God?

NBC this morning had a poll on this question. They had the highest
number of responses that they have ever had for one of their polls, and the
Percentage was the same as this:

86% to keep the words, IN God We Trust and God in the
Pledge of Allegiance 14% against.

That is a pretty 'commanding' public response.

Prayer for Canadian Nationals at Toronto Motorsports Park Part II

Gracious Heavenly Father,

Hear our prayer for success and completion,

For safety and good sportsmanship,

For prosperity in our affairs and in our souls.

Everything is upheld by the word of Your Power.

Not one thing exists that You did not create.

Yet You choose to be glorified through us, Your highest creation.

Grant that the work of our hands and the intent of our hearts

Be pleasing to You that You may be glorified.

May Your strength be made perfect in our weaknesses

As we see You complete and fulfill Your plan for our lives.

May we strive harder for excellence – for we are made in Your image.

May we love purer- for You are Love, pure and undefiled.

May we live with joy – for that is Your bequest.

May we praise You and thank You every moment of our lives

With every fiber of our being.

Amen.

Remember Gary & Renee Bingham as they minister at the Canadian

Prayer for the North American Nationals

Dear Father,

How do we touch Your heart?

How do we move You?

“When we come to You as Your children,

Seeking Your protection, Your goodness and Your peace.”

We come as Your children, knowing that every good and perfect gift

comes from Your hand; knowing that it is You, our Father,

who gives us the power to get wealth, to prosper in body and soul.

We come asking for Your divine goodness in our lives as we do the things

You have gifted and equipped us to do.

May the work of our hands be the best we can do.

May we say when we see what we have created at this event that it is good,

just as You said after each day of creation.

May the work of our hands and hearts be an acceptable offering to You.

May You enjoy the beauty of the race and the accomplishment of Your children

And may we invite You to the celebration.

We come seeking Your peace in our lives –

peace with you, with our fellowman, and with ourselves.

Your peace is nothing broken, nothing lacking – wholeness.

That is our desire: to be wholly restored with You

and to fulfill Your will here on this earth.

May we touch Your heart.

May we move You to dance over us with joy.

May we seek You above all things as we do the things You give us to do.

May we continually thank You for being our Father and God

and for the benefits of being Your children.

Amen.

Also pray for the Div. 1 & 3 event this weekend at Kanawha Valley and Mike Imhoff

Prayer for Norwalk World Nationals

Dear Heavenly Father,
Excellence and perfection in all the world was your original intention at creation.
Because You change not and are the same, yesterday, today and tomorrow,
That is still Your intention for this world and for each person.
As we come together for the largest race, the World Nationals,
We stand with You for excellence and perfection.
We ask for excellence in weather, attendance, performances and attitudes.
May we blend our differences to create something wonderful and unique
That we could not accomplish by ourselves and certainly not without You.
May we reach the heights of our abilities and may You add Your touch to that.
May we determine to overlook small things and remember the big picture and Your vision.
We remember that it is You who daily loads us with benefits.
And we Praise You, for loving us and being a part of our daily lives.
And in all things, may You be glorified.
Amen.

Prayer for Motor City Nationals

This week, Father, we celebrate our freedom.

Freedom granted by You through the valor of our military and Your blessings.

These men & women are the warriors You designed

To protect our freedom to worship and celebrate Your abundant life.

We thank You Father, for their courage and dedication.

We thank You Father, that they demonstrate Your word:

“No greater love hath any man than to lay down his life for another.”

Because of this freedom, we come to another IHRA national event

Doing what You have gifted us to do: race.

We thank You for the competitive nature within us,

The desire to obtain higher goals, push the limits, explore new horizons.

For being made in Your image, we know there are greater things to come.

Grant us safety as we travel and race.

Give us hearts of appreciation to You and our military that we can do what we love.

Guard our men and women, our warriors, our heroes – both on the track and on the battle field.

Bring us all safely home to our loved ones that we may celebrate life together.

Grant us peace with each other and peace among the nations.

We seek Your will to be done here as it is in heaven.

Show Yourself strong on our behalf.

May we tell of the marvelous goodness of God Almighty

That all the world may know that You.

Thank You for Your blessings.

Thank You for Your Presence with us.

Thank You for great performances, great attendance, great weather, great people and great safety.

Amen.

Prayer for the Rocky Mountain Nationals

Holy Heavenly Father,
You, who created everything that exists, by the power of Your words,
You, who upholds everything and everyone, by the power of Your Word,
To You be all glory and honor and power and majesty.
We come to You seeking Your will here on this earth and in our lives just as it is in heaven.
We pray for good fortune in everything we do, and for good health—
That our everyday affairs prosper, as well as our souls.
We come asking You, the God of all, to be involved in our everyday affairs,
To be exalted in the work of our hands, to be blessed by the words of our mouths.
May the Rocky Mountain Nationals be blessed with great weather, great performances,
Great relationships, great memories, and a great time enjoying all Your gifts and graces.
May this event be blessed by Your Presence
For that is where we find fullness, max capacity, of joy.
And that is what we ultimately seek in all aspects of our lives.
So Father, we come seeking You. Be present in every aspect of our lives.
May we reflect Your glory, Your goodness, Your love and Your joy.
May we glorify You so that all the world knows that You are God
And that You enjoy relationship and time with us and us with You.
We thank You that You hear and answer.
We praise You for who You are.
Amen. And Amen.

Also pray for the Pittsburg Pro Am event this weekend and Matt Zapp as he ministers there.  Also pray for the NHRA event and Larry & Linda Smiley as they minister there.

Keith McPherson, TS racer, was air lifted from Milan Dragway during the IHRA Pro Am event Sunday, June 18.  He is in the Univ. of Michigan Hospital undergoing precautionary testing.  Please keep him and his family in your prayers.

A new day was just dawning May 27 when tens of thousands of Indonesians' lives were thrown into chaos as a 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck Indonesia. More than 5,000 people died as inadequate buildings collapsed, and now 200,000 are without sufficient shelter. Many of these people were already poor before the earthquake reduced their homes to rubble, and the prospect of rebuilding their shattered houses, schools, and medical centers is daunting.

Because World Vision was already working in Indonesia, we were able to begin distributing relief supplies to survivors within 24 hours. Many families lost everything they owned, so the need is urgent for essentials like shelter, blankets, clothing, cooking utensils, and medical supplies.

We ask your church to join us in prayer as World Vision continues this critical emergency response, and begins assessing the need for long-term reconstruction assistance.

Prayer for Mopar Canadian Nationals at Grand Bend Motorplex

Holy Father who created everything,

We praise You for our lives and for the gifts You give

That enable us to enjoy our lives to the very fullest.

We thank You for this beautiful world.

We thank You for allowing us to be global

And share the beauty of sister countries.

We thank You for the gift of drag racing,

The talents, abilities and knowledge to race

And, like You, to explore new boundaries.

Give us peace with You and each other

As we live here among our fellow man.

Give us the knowledge that You are always present with us.

Give us safety as we travel and race.

Give us purpose and direction and an “others” view point

So that our actions become worship of You instead of us.

May all we do bring You honor and glory

That we may dwell in Your blessings today and always.

Bless us as we travel.

Bless us as we race.

Bless us as we live together in play and work.

Bless us that we may bless You.

Godspeed.

I Corinthians For Mothers

If I keep my house immaculately clean, and am envied by all for my interior decorating, but do not show love in my family -- I am just another housewife.

If I'm always producing lovely things - sewing, art; if I always look attractive, and speak intelligently, but am not loving to my family -- I am nothing.

If I'm busy in community affairs, teach Sunday School, and drive in the carpool, but fail to give adequate love to my family -- I gain nothing.

Love changes diapers, cleans up messes, and ties shoes - over and over again.

Love is kind, though tired and frazzled.

Love doesn't envy another woman -- one whose children are "spaced" better, or in school so she has time to pursue her own interests.

Love doesn't try to impress others with my abilities or knowledge as as a mother.

Love doesn't scream at the kids.

Love doesn't feel cheated because I didn't get to do what I wanted to do today -- sew, read, soak in a hot tub.

Love doesn't lose my temper easily.

Love doesn't assume that my children are being naughty just because their noise level is irritating.

Love doesn't rejoice when other people's children misbehave and make mine look good.

Love is genuinely happy when others are honored by their children.

Today May 4, 2006 is the National Day of Prayer.

You can visit the site National Day of Prayer site for all the details.  Here is the prayer for the nation.  In this day of prayer, please remember God Speed Ministry as well.  We know that God is moved by the prayer of His people.

2006 Prayer for the Nation
Dr. Henry Blackaby

Oh Heavenly Father, You have made Yourself known to us as a nation by Your mighty works throughout our history.
From the beginning, You have been with us through many wars and conflicts; Your right arm has saved us. We have
been amazingly and graciously blessed.

Today, we confess our sin of not responding to Your right to rule in our lives and our nation. Too often we have despised and rejected Your will while imposing our own, and we are now facing the consequences of our disobedience.
Draw us back to Yourself that we may return to Your ways once again.  Without You we can do nothing.  You have promised that if we honor You, You will once again honor this great nation.

That is our fervent prayer.
For Your honor
and glory we pray,
Amen.

Prayer for Rockingham Spring Nationals
Once again, Father, I come before Your throne
Seeking Your will here on earth as in heaven.
I come seeking Your goodness and blessings.
I thank You for every good thing You have already given.
I praise Your name for loving and caring for each of us.
I love You because of what You have done for us
By sending Your Son Jesus to die for our sins.
As Your child, I come asking You to bless my friends,
Co-workers and IHRA family.
I ask for Your protection as we travel and race.
I ask for keenness of senses and sharpness of mind
So we may all use excellently the talents You have given us.
May we do our very best as an honor to You who always gives the best.
May we choose to forego little offenses in order to see the best in others.
May we reach deep within to see the potential of greatness in each situation.
May we honor You by being the best we can be every moment of this life.
May we make You smile by being what You created us to be.
Godspeed,
Renee

We're BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is with great joy that the God Speed Ministry web site is back up and working correctly.  We apologize for the inconvenience for things not working properly, but it was not due to a lack of prayer and effort.

During this down time, God Speed Ministry decided to accept the gracious offer of J-Angel Web services and Mark Walter to host God Speed Ministry.  Mark has made the switch from 1320 Web Services to J-Angel a smooth and seamless process.

God Speed Ministry wishes to express our gratitude and thanks to Allen Cook and 1320 Web Services for being our home on the World Wide Web for the past 2 years.  We highly recommend Allen as a web designer (www.1320.us) and host as well as Mark Walter and J-Angel (www.j-angel.com

IT IS GREAT TO BE BACK WITH YOU!  What better way to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus than to have Him resurrect the God Speed Ministry web site.  What needs to be resurrected in your life?  God is more than able.  Because He lives, we can too!

Chaplain Matt Zapp Moves to Division 1

God Speed Ministry Seeks Children’s Chaplains for Divisions

Matt Zapp, God Speed Ministry Division 3 Chaplain, is moving to Division 1 for 2006.  This is great news for the Patriots as Matt brings his passion and love for God and people to share with them.  Matt has a great gift of communicating God’s truth that is both engaging and challenging.  Matt also has great rapport with his fellow racers and is open to listen and pray for them as need arises.  He is indeed a great asset to God Speed Ministry and now to Division 1.

With Matt making the move to Division 1, that leaves us with an opening for a Divisional Chaplain in Division 3, the Northstars.  We know that God has the right person out there to meet the needs of the people of this division and feel confident that everything will be in place by the start of the season.

God has chosen each of the chaplains in God Speed Ministry.  Each one has a heart and passion for God, His Word and want to convey that to the racers of their division.  God Speed is indeed blessed by the caliper of love, devotion and integrity in each of our chaplains.

Now we want to extend that passion and devotion to the children in each Division.  IHRA is extremely family oriented and the Junior Dragster program enhances the family aspect of IHRA drag racing, God Speed Ministry is seeking Divisional Children’s Chaplains to meet the specific needs of these young people.

Christy Rice, national Children’s Chaplain, has put together a program of Bible Stories, music, crafts and activities that each Divisional Children’s Chaplain may utilize.  We are trying to get people in place before the beginning of the season.  We need divisional children’s chaplains s well as helpers.

If you are interested in working with children or being a divisional children’s chaplain, please contact Christy Rice at dragster3@hotmail.com or 1-614-738-6946 or Renee Bingham at renee@godspeedministry.com or 1-704-692-2452.

We look forward to the wonderful new things in store for God Speed Ministry and IHRA in 2006.  Godspeed

TEACH THE CHILDREN - the real meaning of Christmas.  You will be blessed by this link!  Merrry CHRISTmas from all of us here at God Speed Ministry.

The Envelope

It’s just a small, white envelope stuck among the branches of our Christmas tree. No name, no identification, no inscription. It has peeked through the branches of our tree for the past 10 years or so. It all began because my husband Mike hated Christmas – oh, not the true meaning of Christmas, but the commercial aspects of it – overspending. The frantic running around at the last minute to get a tie for Uncle Harry and the dusting powder for Grandma, the gift given in desperation because you couldn’t think of anything else. Knowing that he felt this way, I decided one year to bypass the usual shirts, sweaters, ties and so forth. I reached for something special just for Mike. The inspiration came in an unusual way.

Our son Kevin, who was 12 that year, was wrestling at the junior level at the school he attended. Shortly before Christmas, there was a non-league match against a team sponsored by an inner-city church. These youngsters, dressed in sneakers so ragged that shoestrings seemed to be the only thing holding them together, presented a sharp contrast to our boys in their spiffy blue uniforms and sparkling new wrestling shoes. As the match began, I was alarmed to see that the other team was wrestling without headgear, a kind of light helmet designed to protect a wrestler’s ears. It was a luxury the ragtag team obviously could not afford. Well, we ended up walloping them. We took every weight class. And as each of their boys got up from the mat, he swaggered around in his tatters with false bravado, a kind of street pride that couldn’t acknowledge defeat.

Mike, seated beside me, shook his head sadly. “I wish just one of them could have won,” he said. “They have a lot of potential, but losing like this could take the heart right out of them.” Mike loved kids, all kids, and he knew them having coached youth league football, baseball and lacrosse. That’s when the idea for his present came. That afternoon, I went to a local sporting goods store and bought an assortment of wrestling headgear and shoes and sent them anonymously to the inner-city church.

On Christmas Eve, I placed the envelope on the tree, the note inside telling Mike what I had done and that this was his gift from me. His smile was the brightest thing about Christmas that year and in succeeding years. For each Christmas, I followed the tradition, one year sending a group of mentally handicapped youngsters to a hockey game, another year a check to a pair of elderly brothers whose home has burned to the ground the week before Christmas, and on and on.

The envelope became the highlight of our Christmas. It was always the last thing opened on Christmas morning and our children, ignoring their new toys, would stand with wide-eyed anticipation as their dad lifted the envelope from the tree to reveal its contents. As the children grew, their toys gave way to more practical presents, but the envelope never lost its allure. And the story doesn’t end there.

You see, we lost Mike last year to cancer. When Christmas rolled around, I was still so wrapped in grief that I barely got the tree up. But Christmas Eve found me placing an envelope on the tree, and in the morning it was joined by three more. Each of our children, unbeknownst to the others, had placed an envelope on the tree for their dad. The tradition has grown, and someday will expand even further, with our grandchildren standing around the tree with wide-eyed anticipation, watching as their fathers take down the envelope

Mike’s spirit, like the Christmas spirit, will always be with us. May we all remember Christ, who is the reason for the season and the true Christmas spirit, this year and always.

THE MANGER

MEMORY VERSE: And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn (Luke 2:7).

The manger was a lowly place,
To lay the Lord of earth and space.
But don't despise that bed of hay,
For God had planned it all that way.
The crowded inn of Bethlehem,
Without a room or bed for them,
Symbolic stands, even today,
Of those who turn the Lord away.
The Christ who came to take our woes
Was wrapped in humble swaddling clothes;
Then Mary took the babe so fair,
And laid Him in a manger there.
The manger: What a place to find
The Lord and Saviour of mankind.
Yet there in Bethlehem's humble stall
Was born the one to save us all.
The manger speaks of God's great love
That reaches down from heav'n above;
It reaches to the lowest place
lb give the gift of life through grace.

Christmas at the Gas Station

The old man sat in his gas station on a cold Christmas Eve. He hadn't been anywhere in years since his wife had passed away. It was just another day to him. He didn't hate Christmas, just couldn't find a reason to celebrate. He was sitting there looking at the snow that had been falling for the last hour and wondering what it was all about when the door opened and a homeless man stepped through.

Instead of throwing the man out, Old George as he was known by his customers, told the man to come and sit by the heater and warm up. "Thank you, but I don't mean to intrude," said the stranger. "I see you're busy, I'll just go." "Not without something hot in your belly." George said.

He turned and opened a wide mouth Thermos and handed it to the stranger. "It ain't much, but it's hot and tasty, "Stew ... made it myself. When you're done, there's coffee and it's fresh."

Just at that moment he heard the "ding" of the driveway bell. "Excuse me, be right back," George said. There in the driveway was an old '53 Chevy. Steam was rolling out of the front. The driver was panicked. "Mister can you help me!" said the driver, with a deep Spanish accent. "My wife is with child and my car is broken."

George opened the hood. It was bad. The block looked cracked from the cold, the car was dead. "You ain't going in this thing," George said as he turned away.

"But Mister, please help ..." The door of the office closed behind George as he went inside. He went to the office wall and got the keys to his old truck, and went back outside. He walked around the building, opened the garage, started the truck and drove it around to where the couple was waiting. "Here, take my truck," he said. "She ain't the best thing you ever looked at, but she runs real good."

George helped put the woman in the truck and watched as it sped off into the night. He turned and walked back inside the office. "Glad I gave 'em the truck, their tires were shot too. That 'ol truck has brand new ." George thought he was talking to the stranger, but the man had gone. The Thermos was on the desk, empty, with a used coffee cup beside it. "Well, at least he got something in his belly," George thought.

George went back outside to see if the old Chevy would start. It cranked slowly, but it started. He pulled it into the garage where the truck had been. He thought he would tinker with it for something to do. Christmas Eve meant no customers. He discovered the block hadn't cracked, it was just the bottom hose on the radiator. "Well, shoot, I can fix this," he said to himself. So he put a new one on.

"Those tires ain't gonna get 'em through the winter either." He took the snow treads off of his wife's old Lincoln. They were like new and he wasn't going to drive the ca r anyway.

As he was working, he heard shots being fired. He ran outside and beside a police car an officer lay on the cold ground. Bleeding from the left shoulder, the officer moaned, "Please help me."

George helped the officer inside as he remembered the training he had received in the Army as a medic. He knew the wound needed attention. "Pressure to stop the bleeding," he thought. The uniform company had been there that morning and had left clean shop towels. He used those and duct tape to bind the wound. "Hey, they say duct tape can fix anythin'," he said, trying to make the policeman feel at ease.

"Something for pain," George thought. All he had was the pills he used for his back. "These ought to work." He put some water in a cup and gave the policeman the pills. "You hang in there, I'm going to get you an ambulance."

The phone was dead. "Maybe I can get one of your buddies on that there talk box out in your car." He went out only to find that a bullet had gone into the dashboard destroying the two way radio.

He went back in to find the policeman sitting up. "Thanks," said the officer. "You could have left me there. The guy that shot me is still in the area."

George sat down beside him, "I would never leave an injured man in the Army and I ain't gonna leave you." George pulled back the bandage to check for bleeding. "Looks worse than what it is. Bullet passed right through 'ya. Good thing it missed the important stuff though. I think with time your gonna be right as rain."

George got up and poured a cup of coffee. "How do you take it?" he asked. "None for me," said the officer. "Oh, yer gonna drink this. Best in the city. Too bad I ain't got no donuts." The officer laughed and winced at the same time.

The front door of the office flew open. In burst a young man with a gun. "Give me all your cash! Do it now!" the young man yelled. His hand was shaking and George could tell that he had never done anything like this before.

"That's the guy that shot me!" exclaimed the officer.

"Son, why are you doing this?" asked George, "You need to put the cannon away. Somebody else might get hurt."

The young man was confused. "Shut up old man, or I'll shoot you, too. Now give me the cash!"

The cop was reaching for his gun. "Put that thing away," George said to the cop, "we got one too many in here now."

He turned his attention to the young man. "Son, it's Christmas Eve. If you need money, well then, here. It ain't much but it's all I got. Now put that pee shooter away."

George pulled $150 out of his pocket and handed it to the young man, reaching for the barrel of the gun at the same time. The young man released his grip on the gun, fell to his knees and began to cry. "I'm not very good at this am I? All I wanted was to buy something for my wife and son," he went on. "I've lost my job, my rent is due, my car got repossessed last week .."

George handed the gun to the cop. Son, we all get in a bit of squeeze now and then. The road gets hard sometimes, but we make it through the best we can."

He got the young man to his feet, and sat him down on a chair across from the cop. "Sometimes we do stupid things." George handed the young man a cup of coffee. "Bein' stupid is one of the things that makes us human. Comin' in here with a gun ain't the answer. Now sit there and get warm and we'll sort this thing out."

The young man had stopped crying. He looked over to the cop. "Sorry I shot you. It just went off. I'm sorry officer."

"Shut up and drink your coffee." the cop said.

George could hear the sounds of sirens outside. A police car and an ambulance skidded to a halt. Two cops came through the door, guns drawn. "Chuck! You ok?" one of the cops asked the wounded officer.

"Not bad for a guy who took a bullet. How did you find me?"

"GPS locator in the car. Best thing since sliced bread. Who did this?" the other cop asked as he approached the young man.

Chuck answered him, "I don't know. The guy ran off into the dark. Just dropped his gun and ran."

George and the young man both looked puzzled at each other.

"That guy work here?," the wounded cop continued. "Yep," George said, "just hired him this morning. Boy lost his job."

The paramedics came in and loaded Chuck onto the stretcher. The young man leaned over the wounded cop and whispered, "Why?"

Chuck just said, "Merry Christmas boy ... and you too, George, and thanks for everything."

"Well, looks like you got one dozy of a break there. That ought to solve some of your problems."

George went into the back room and came out with a box. He pulled out a ring box. "Here you go, something for the little woman. I don't think Martha would mind. She said it would come in handy some day."

The young man looked inside to see the biggest t diamond ring he ever saw. "I can't take this," said the young man. "It means something to you."

"And now it means something to you," replied George. "I got my memories. That's all I need."

George reached into the box again. An airplane, a car and a truck appeared next. They were toys that the oil company had left for him to sell. "Here's something for that little man of yours."

The young man began to cry again as he handed back the $150 that the old man had handed him earlier.

"And what are you supposed to buy Christmas dinner with? You keep that too," George said, "Now git home to your family."

The young man turned with tears streaming down his face. "I'll be here in the morning for work, if that job offer is still good."

"Nope. I'm closed Christmas day," George said. "See ya the day after."

George turned around to find that the stranger had returned. "Where'd you come from? I thought you left?"

"I have been he re. I have always been here," said the stranger. "You say you don't celebrate Christmas. Why?"

"Well, after my wife passed away, I just couldn't see what all the bother was. Puttin' up a tree and all seemed a waste of a good pine tree. Bakin' cookies like I used to with Martha just wasn't the same by myself and besides I was gettin' a little chubby."

The stranger put his hand on George's shoulder. "But you do celebrate the holiday, George.
You gave me food and drink and warmed me when I was cold and hungry.
The woman with child will bear a son and he will become a great doctor.
The policeman you helped will go on to save 19 people from being killed by terrorists.
The young man who tried to rob you will make you a rich man and not take any for himself. "That is the spirit of the season and you keep it as good as any man."

George was taken aback by all this stranger had said. "And how do you know all this?" asked the old man.

"Trust me , George. I have the inside track on this sort of thing. And when your days are done you will be with Martha again."

The stranger moved toward the door. "If you will excuse me, George, I have to go now. I have to go home where there is a big celebration planned."

George watched as the old leather jacket and the torn pants that the stranger was wearing turned into a white robe. A golden light began to fill the room.

"You see, George ... it's My birthday. Merry Christmas."

George fell to his knees and replied, "Happy Birthday, Lord."

********

God Speed Ministry will soon complete its first year as the official ministry of IHRA.  We have accomplished much this year: establishing divisional chaplains, covering every IHRA event - national, Pro Am, Junior Dragster national and Summit team finals.  At the national events, we have
gone from one service to two: a 7:30 a.m. and a later service, usually between 8:15 and 9:00 a.m.  We also have started having children's church at the latter service at the national events.
As we have covered the US and Canada, we have found some tracks to have Track Chaplains in place.  It is wonderful to see this and to see the positive impact it has on the track personnel, racers and fans.  We know these tracks are covered by prayer and the hand of God in a very personal
way.  These chaplains are fulfilling a very basic need for the tracks as volunteers who have a heart to serve the racers and God.
But we have also seen a need arise time after time for local track chaplains at tracks without them.  The death of Shelly Howard and her son in April of this year at an IHRA track brought this reality home in a very devastating way.  Other requests have come for various reasons such as chapel
service on a weekend event.  But all of them have made us realize the extreme importance of encouraging every track to have a chaplain.
To this end, God Speed Ministry will host a Chaplain Training Seminar at the IHRA banquet on Friday, December 9th, 2005.  A flyer and a registration form are available.  Please inform anyone you think may be interested.
God Speed is also looking for chaplains in various areas of ministry.  Maybe someone would be interested in being a part of the God Speed team.  They would certainly need to come to the seminar.
If you have a track chaplain, please let us know as we are compiling a directory of track chaplains to post on www.godspeedministry.com .
We are here to serve the needs of the IHRA tracks, promoters and racers.
If you have any questions about this or have any other needs, please contact
us.
Godspeed,
Renee Bingham

Prayer for the World Finals at Rockingham

Dear Father,

We come to the end of our season when it is time to crown our champions

And place new heroes before our fans and participants.

The chosen place for this is known as the “Rock”.

You have been our “Rock” this year in times of storms and trials.

We have come through the rivers and the waters have not overtaken us

Because You have been our Rock upon which we could stand tall.

You have allowed us to complete our events as scheduled.  Thank You!

You have lined our tracks with Your angels to give safety to our people.  Thank You!

You have let us work as a team and have used the talents You gave us

To accomplish more than we could have accomplished on our own.  Thank You!

Thank You for those men and women who have set standards for the next

generation to reach –

In Integrity, Honesty, Respect and Accomplishments.

Thank You for displaying Your love and Power to us and the world.

And may the world know that You still love and protect and keep Your promises and

That the final outcome of this world is a crown of life to those who believe in You.

May we all be overcomers, achievers, and believers for eternity.

Thank You again for safety, completion of this season and unity of purpose.

Thank You for a great outcome for IHRA.

Godspeed to everyone.

JAMA RACING MINISTRY RESPONDS TO CALL FOR  HELP FROM VICTIMS OF KATRINA.

Pastor Broxie Hardesty & Mark @ JAMA's Food & Friends at No Problem Raceway 2004

Mark just got a call for help from a church that assisted us at a race last year. They are located between Baton Rouge & New Orleans. They currently have 90 refugees at the church and just need HELP (physical & financial). They have power & fresh water, so those are not the issues. Just hungry distraught people who need food, shelter, counseling and a shoulder to cry on.

This photo from MSN makes ya feel
        extremely blessed, huh?

Pastor Broxie asked if Mark could possibly give him a coupla weeks and it just so happened our schedule was recently cleared for (you guessed it) a coupla weeks. Since Jack started back in the public school, this week, he & I cannot go...Mark will be leaving tomorrow.

Prayer cover needed...

KATRINA RELIEF 12.1  GOD IS REAL   (JAMA Racing Ministry)

Last week was so incredible! At every turn we saw God's hand of provision. We have all heard (and even preached) about how God has our needs met before we even know we have a need...that He's been there and paved the way, etc, etc.  But whether or not we believe/believed it before, we sho'nuff KNOW it now!

It's happening in so many ways...lemme' touch on some of the big ones.

I've already shared about the computers, computer components, air conditioning units (x2), etc. Well at the end of last week it became apparent that we were going to have to have more volunteers. This need was barely vocalized when we received word that 2 separate teams from Georgia were coming (one right away & the other a little later) and a group from Canada is fact finding to send a team to us.
Each group is going out of the box, on this, but let me expand on the Canadian Connection. During the summer of 2004, following a race at Toronto Motorsports Park, we (Team JAMA) were at the flying J in London Ontario. When you are filling a 90 gallon tank you are there for a minute or two (even if it's only half a tank).  So...while filling the tank Mark became engaged with another gentleman in conversation. They exchanged their stories and he asked to be put on our "Trip News" mailing list. We've never seen him since.
Then on Thursday we received an e-mail from him stating that he was contemplating putting a team together (his ministry puts teams together for overseas missions) to come down and help. People let me tell you...when you're walking with God there are NO chance encounters. He knew what was coming and set that up over a year ago!

The Louisiana National Guard has loaned us a couple of guys that are helping with our overnight security.

FEMA is talking about putting temporary units (trailers) on the Church grounds so that we can shelter more.

We've had material shortages & then the stuff just "shows up"! (Pallets of MRE's, etc)

Saturday morning I received a call from an RFC Chaplain in the Commerce Georgia area. Seems a gentleman was compelled to purchase (what he called) a short-semi trailer and fill it with 11 pallets of non-perishable food products, paper products, toothpaste, razors, etc all from Cosco's. He delivered it to Gerald to find a destination. The intent (also) was to leave the trailer down there to use as a storage facility as long as they needed it. Gerald's church will hire the truck & driver to take it over...his question was WHEN would we like it delivered.
I quickly called Mark and got his voice-mail. I e-mailed him, "CALL ME", and got no response. A while later, he called & apologized stating that they were in Staff Meeting. One of the big needs being discussed was some sort of outside storage...ARE Y'ALL GETTING THIS???...while they were discussing it God had it waiting for them to say "Send it"!!

Since this facility has become a distribution & communications hub all these things are going out almost as fast as they are coming in.

I mentioned the biggies, but the small miracles are equally important. A single item sent may be just the thing that touches the heart of one of our guests, and that may be the catalyst that God uses to begin their healing. Some of their wounds are as deep as you have imagined.

A woman working beside Marietta (Pastor Broxie's wife) leaned in and proclaimed (with revelation) "God is REAL!" The woman had been churched all her life, but today her eyes were opened to a truth that had eluded her. Many others, both churched & un-churched, are seeing the undeniable reality of God's hand in this tragedy. Yes, God IS Real...

When Mark told me about this it brought to my remembrance a wonderful day in Norcross Georgia when I saw & tearfully proclaimed "You're really there, aren't You?!?" It changes your whole perspective, doesn't it? To know that He's here today (I thought I couldn't know Him until I died...and if I was good enough...)...To know that he knows how many hairs are on your head at each and every moment (regardless of how many you left in your hairbrush this morning). He is current with everything you are going through and is waiting for you to acknowledge Him and tell Him what you need!

The next wave is beginning to trickle in. We are told to expect an increase as those who fled to hotel/motels and have run out of money, and those who tried to stay in New Orleans are being more forcefully persuaded to leave make their way to us.

Thank you to all who are supporting our efforts, here. Don't forget to keep those prayers coming, too!
     Love y'all,
         joanne

September 1, 2005  Hurricane Victim Update

I spoke with Rev. Bill Dickerson this morning.  He has talked with the Cummings Family.  They are all okay and they still have everything but their jobs.  All the businesses they worked for are under water.  But they are okay.  They will be at Sealy this weekend because they have nothing else to do.  After that their future is uncertain.  Pray for them.

The Levatino family is also okay.  Kevin Edmonds, Tim & Bonnie Graves and Mike Nicoll are also reported as okay although we do not have details.

The Cummings Family said conditions were 10 times worse than what you see on TV.  Please pray for this desperate situation.

As a way to help, God Speed Ministry will send every penny of the offerings this weekend at Sealy Raceway and VMP directly to the Hurricane Victims.  We will keep nothing but pass it straight on to the recovery mission for Hurricane Katrina.

Also, just a reminder:  If you make a donation to any organization - Red Cross, Samaritan's Purse, etc. - you must mark your donation specifically for Hurricane Katrina relief or the money just goes into the general funds.  Again, you must specify your donations to Hurricane Katrina if that is where you want your donation to go.
www.redcross.org or www.samaritanspurse.org for more information on our work in the aftermath of this devastating storm, or to give to the relief efforts. You can also donate to Samaritan's Purse by calling (800) 665-2843.

God bless you all as you pray and give for this catastrophic event in our nation.
Godspeed,
Renee

Pray for victims of Hurricane Katrina
Just wanted to lift some of our known racers  who live in the direct impact of Hurricane Katrina to you.  Rev. Bill Dickerson, Division 4 chaplain, called this morning with a list of known racing families in the area.  If anyone hears from any of these or others, please contact me so we can pass along the info to others who are wondering about them.  But PRAY!!!!  The devastation is so great and so many are looking for loved ones.

Donald Helbach lives in New Orleans

Several of these families live in the Houma, Hammond and LaPlace towns of LA which took a hard hit.  We also know of many families in Mississippi, Alabama, the Florida panhandle who also were in the path of Katrina.  Ralph Abraham and Hattiesburg Dragstrip, Red River Raceway in Shreveport and many others.

Please let me know of any needs or requests, reports of safety or loss that we may rejoice with those survivors and comfort those who lose property or life.  renee@godspeedministry.com

Pray for everyone in those areas as they deal with the loss of life, property and way of life.  Pray for the Red Cross and other emergency crews as they try to care for the millions of people so overwhelmed by the loss.  Also pray for them as there is no electricity and extreme heat and humidity.

As Hurricane Katrina slammed the Gulf Coast of the United States early Monday morning, Samaritan's Purse mobilized our Disaster Relief Units. These tractor-trailers, fully equipped with emergency supplies and equipment, are on their way to devastated communities to help repair homes and restore hope.

News reports indicate that this could be one of the most destructive hurricanes on record. Please pray for those impacted by the storm, and for the hundreds of volunteers and churches that will work with us to reach out to those in need in the Name of Jesus Christ.

We need your help and your prayers. Please visit our Web site at www.samaritanspurse.org for more information on our work in the aftermath of this devastating storm, or to give to our relief efforts. You can also donate by calling (800) 665-2843. Thank you, and may God bless you.

Dear Father,
Your Word tells us to “declare Your glory among the nations, Your marvelous deeds among all peoples. Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."
You, O God, alone are great among the nations and we come to acknowledge our need of You.
For by You all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by You and for You. You are before all things, and in You all things hold together.
You tell us to remind people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men. Live an exemplary life, make the Lord proud of you by being good citizens. Respect the authorities, whatever their level; they are God's emissaries for keeping order.
May we observe these laws carefully, for this will show our wisdom and understanding to the nations, who will hear about all these decrees and say, "Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people."
Give us wisdom for this event, wisdom for each moment of our days and the circumstances in which we find ourselves. May we honor You with our kindness toward others and our respect of our fellow man. Grant us peace, safety, timeliness and good weather. May we know You are with us always and that Your love surrounds us continually.
We thank You and declare Your praise among the nations so that all may know You too, as the loving Father, Savior, and Friend.
Amen.

Praise Report & Update (August 31, 2005)

Hi, This is Dennis the guy run over at Gateway by the roller on 4/19/05. Just wanted to let you know I went back to work this week. Pretty amazing since 4 months ago I had a 2 broken feet(screws still in one), a dislocated ankle, a broken femur(2 titanium rods now), broken/fractured pelvis, broken arm and black and blue all over. I'm on light duty and still going to therapy 3 times a week. I guess it shows the power of prayer. Thanks again to everybody!!!!

RED FRIDAYS
You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why . . .
The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are.   Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops.
Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red -blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED. Word of mouth, press, TV . . . let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University.
If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED . . . and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! So let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.
Wear Red on Fridays  . . . SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!  WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE  FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE.  FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!!!   GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Prayer for Torco NORTHERN NATIONALS at US 131, Martin MI

Today, Lord, we come seeking Your face instead of Your hand.

We come seeking to know You in Your fullness,

not just with our knowledge

But to experience Your love fully and completely

in our hearts and lives.

We seek to understand, comprehend and own

what You and Your love are in completeness.

We come seeking You, first, before we start this event,

for without You we have no guidance or ability  to succeed in our plans, to prosper in the work of our hands,

or to be safe and secure in Your arms.

We acknowledge You as Lord and God of all, even us.

We thank You and praise You for evidence

of Your love and work in our lives and world.

We thank that You love us enough,

even when we are far from You in heart and action,

to give Your Son Jesus to die for our sins,

to purchase our pardon and forgiveness.

We accept You as God and Lord in our lives

that we may be Your ambassadors of love and light.

May we make You smile.

May we please You and honor You by our words, actions and thoughts.

And may we praise You with our whole being,

loving life, loving others, loving You.

And we thank You for all You have done for us this year,

in safety, completing events, for success.

We thank You and honor You for Your goodness and faithfulness to us.

In Jesus power and authority.

Amen

Racers For Christ Garage will be conducting an open house on Friday July 29th, from 4:00 till 9:00 pm and Saturday, July 30th, from 8:00 am till noon.  We would like to extend an invitation to your members to visit the Garage and enjoy some food, refreshment and music.  On Saturday we will also be offering oil changes for single mothers and widows.  Please list this event in your bulletin, newsletter and announcements.

Train up a child in the way he should go…(Proverbs 22:6)

Team RFC, a non-denominational Christian organization, has opened an RFC Garage in West Frankfort, IL.  The RFC Garage is a place where youth can gather to be mentored by fellow Christians on the aspects of automobile racing, rodding and restoration, all within a safe, Christian atmosphere.  RFC Garage gives them hands-on participation in the three R’s, restoration, racing and rodding while seeing how the love of Christ has influenced the lives of others.  While working on all types of vehicles, Christian mentors are sharing the gifts God has bestowed upon them while being examples of how Christ has influenced and changed their lives

RFC Garage needs your help in sharing this good news with your membership.  We invite all types of support, from hands on participation to donated items.  Here are some ways your membership can begin assisting the youth of our community.

Equipment & Tools:   We have several tools but we have the space for several projects to be going on at the same time.  So, there is a need for additional basic hand tools. There is also the need for specialty tools and equipment, such as welding, diagnostic and sheet metal equipment.  If your membership has anything they wish to donate or have contacts with any dealers, manufacturers, vendors or suppliers please let us know.

Volunteers:  Volunteers are needed to supervise during all times that activities are on going in the garage, for field trips and other events.  We need volunteers to share the daily opening of the garage.  We could also utilize a clerical person a few hours a week.

Capital:  As with anything, it takes money to get any ministry off to a good start and to keep the doors open.  We would greatly appreciate it if you would consider RFC Garage as one of your missions.  No matter how small or large all contributions will be greatly appreciated.

Weekly activities of the garage will include regularly scheduled: small group Bible study, devotional time and prayer time.  I can visualize setting aside one evening a week for small group Bible study and having a time each day to share concerns and uplift them in prayer.

We would gladly accept any opportunity to share our presentation to the entire Church, your missions committee or Sunday School classes.  RFC Garage looks forward to, training up the children of our community in the way they should go.  Thank you for your time, support and prayerful consideration.

If you have questions or would like to make a donation, please contact Scott Williams, RFC Garage Coordinator, by phone at 618-218-1910 or by email rfcgarage@westfrankfort.com.

Your Brother in Christ,

Scott Williams

6-1-05

Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.  Matthew 6:33

Do you realize that in the USA where we are free to worship at the church of our choosing that according to the latest Barna Research:

• There are 30% less churches today then in 1950
• 4,000 churches per year close their doors
• Churches are supported less today than during the great depression

Prayer for ACDelco Canadian Nationals at Toronto Motorsports Park

Most High and Holy God,

God who loves us enough to redeem us from our selfishness and rebellion against you,

God who loves us so much that You pour out new mercies every day for that day’s tasks;

To You who loves us with that immeasurable love

We come asking to receive those mercies for the days ahead.

We ask for traveling mercies for our friends and family as we make our way to Toronto.

We ask for racing mercies as we compete and push the envelope of human knowledge and skills.

We ask for mercies in relationships with family, friends and strangers.

We ask for mercies and kindness in our words and body language and actions.

We ask for safety, to be held close to you, for in Your presence there is no darkness, no evil, no harm.

We ask for weather mercies, that we may complete this event as scheduled.

But most of all we ask for You to be God to us –

In Your fullness and power and glory.

Show Yourself strong on our behalf that we and the world may know that God is!

These things we ask in the power and authority of Jesus Christ who purchased our salvation with His own blood,

AMEN.

Also pray for the ORSCA Outlaw Series race this weekend at Carolina Dragway and

Terry Taylor, Direct Power Racing.

THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST EXCITING TIMES OF THE YEAR! WHY?
BECAUSE IT IS VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL TIME!

For about 8 weeks every year, we focus on those with a special connection to Jesus Christ – our children. Do you realize that children between the ages of 4 and 14 years of age make up half of the population in the developing world countries?

According to George Barna if a person does not make a decision for Christ by 18 years of age there is only a 6% chance they will accept Christ.

So I wonder why most churches spend 90% of our time on reaching adults. Here are the facts: Churches on average spend 15% of their resources to reach and disciple children and 85% of their resources (as well as the efforts) to reach adults with the Gospel.

Let me put it this way, you have a 100 acres, 85 acres are flat and can be harvested with relative ease 15% of the land is swamp, stumps, tall grass and very difficult to get in. Where would you spend the majority of your time? It appears to me that the average church is spending 85% of its time, energy and resources in the swamp. In addition, the fields that are white unto harvest are going un-harvested.

I would like to see a paradigm shift in churches that would start putting their resources where the greatest potential is. Here is why this is vital –
First, a person’s moral foundations are generally in place by the time they reach age nine. While those foundations are refined and the application of those foundations may shift to some extent as the individual ages, their fundamental perspectives on truth, integrity, meaning, justice, morality, and ethics are formed quite early in life.

Second, a person’s response to the meaning and personal value of Jesus Christ’s life, death and resurrection is usually determined before a person reaches eighteen. In fact, a majority of Americans make a lasting determination about the personal significance of Christ’s death and resurrection by age 12.

Third, in most cases people’s spiritual beliefs are irrevocably formed when they are pre-teens. Those beliefs include perceptions of the nature of God, the existence of Satan, the reliability of the Bible, perceptions regarding the after-life, the holiness of Jesus Christ, the means of gaining God’s favor, and the influence of spiritual forces in a person’s life.

Thank God for VBS and the dedicated workers! It makes no difference how big or small your church is if you are reaching the children, you are in a mighty ministry!

Prayer for the Motor City Nationals, Milan MI July 15-17, 2005

Today I pray peace, the Peace that Jesus left us, the peace that binds us into the center of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  For when we are centered in God, we have completeness in our spirit, soul and body; wholeness in our thoughts and actions, all our needs are met, and above all, we have a perfect relationship with God.  What an awesome place that is!

Peace.

I pray that we seek God first, because He tells us to “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.  And all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33

The things we need to complete this race, to be successful in this world in which we live and work are added to us when we seek God first instead as an afterthought.

Peace.

I pray for peace in our travels on land and by air.  I pray for peace in our racing and in our waiting.  I pray for peace in our preparations: to go, to accomplish, and to return.

Peace.

I pray for peace in our relations with ourselves and with other people.  I pray for joy in the moments of our lives and happiness for special moments.

I pray for success and completion in every area of our lives and in this event.

Godspeed.

Prayer for Edmonton
Today we pray for a good finish.
We know Lord, that you are the Author and Finisher of our faith.
Your Word tells us that is it better to finish than to start.
That is our goal at this event Father, to finish and to finish well.
We pray for safety for all those who travel by air and by land.
We ask You for new friends at Customs who guard our safety but greet us with smiles and courtesy.
We pray for on-time flights and easy landings.
We ask for beautiful views as we traverse Your creation.
May we praise You for the wonder of Your creation and creativity.
We ask You Father, for safety for every racer, crew, fan, official and sponsor who comes through the gate.
Let us be vessels of goodwill and peace.
May we quickly share smiles in good times and hard.
May we do everything we find to do with enthusiasm and as a gift to You in worship,
for You created us to follow in Your image, creating and blessing.
So, Father, we lay our plans before You, as an offering of praise.
We know that You are always "mindful of man", that You have thoughts for our hope and future for good and not for harm.
We thank You that You care for us and that Your will is ever directed to Your children's good.
We praise You for holding back the rains this year and allowing us to complete events, for granting us safety and peace.
We pray that we continue to find favor in Your sight.
We praise You because every good and perfect gift comes from You.
Thank You Father for watching over us and sharing this life with us.
In Jesus name, by His authority and power and righteousness.
Amen.

Dottie Rambo Breaks Leg and Enters Surgery

Dottie Rambo fell in her home and broke her femur bone in her leg and was rushed to emergency surgery. At the time of this press release she was still in surgery. Her date in Goshen, IN this weekend is canceled and should be rescheduled soon. Please visit
www.dottierambo.net   for updates on the rescheduled performance.

"Dottie is in very high spirits, and other than the broken leg is in great health" says Dottie's manager Larry Ferguson. "She is in the process of moving into a new home, so much of her home surroundings were out of place. While working with her little 2 LB Yorkshire Terrier, she slipped on a snag in the carpet and fell."

Please keep Dottie in prayer and you may send notes or cards to PO BOX 120039, Nashville, TN 37212.

6-6-05  I'm happy to report that Dottie Rambo came through surgery fine and should be released from the hospital soon. Please continue to keep her in your prayers.

Prayer for Grand Bend National Event

Today I pray for God's blessings on your lives.

I ask God to continue to grant you safety in your travels,

peace in your souls

prosperity in the work of your hands.

Dueteronomy 28:3-6 says:

    "GOD's blessing inside the city,

    GOD's blessing in the country;

    GOD's blessing on your children,

    the crops of your land,

    the young of your livestock,

    the calves of your herds,

    the lambs of your flocks.

    GOD's blessing on your basket and bread bowl;

GOD's blessing in your coming in,

GOD's blessing in your going out."

I pray that "GOD will make you the head, not the tail;

you'll always be the top dog, never the bottom dog,

as you obediently listen to and diligently keep the commands of GOD, your God, that I am commanding you today. " v. 13

May you know that God loves you totally and completely.  He always has and He always will.  He wants His best for us but He allows us to make our own choices. May our choices be wise so that the consequences are pleasurable now and in the future.

May we be instruments for peace and good.

May our words be soft and well spoken.

May we sleep in peace and security.

May we rise with eagerness for the day and excitement for the schedule.

May we know that we touch a life for good and may we leave a legacy of hope.

May we make God smile!

Godspeed,

Renee

Friday the 13th of May - God is greater than our superstitions and He has overcome the world.  Rev. Bill Dickerson just called with a praise report from his MRI on his shoulder.  There is no growth and no cancer which is what had been feared.  PRAISE THE LORD!    Bill said to let everyone know that this is indeed an answer to prayer.

He does have some arthritis in his collar bone and a torn rotator cuff that will require further treatment.  Continue to keep him and Jean in your prayers as they continue to lose sleep due to Bill's pain.

Magnify the Lord in all your ways - in your actions, your speech and your thoughts.  For whatever you magnify, you make larger in your life.  If you magnify your fears, they will overshadow and overtake you.  But when we magnify the Lord, we overcome and live victoriously.  So today, Friday the 13th, let us magnify God and His goodness instead of our fears and superstitions.  "This is the day the Lord has made.  Let us rejoice and be glad in it."   AMEN AND AMEN!

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY GOD SPEED!   April 27, 2005, God Speed Ministry celebrated it's 1st Birthday.  Our first birthday gift came from the IRS as they granted us 501(c)3 status.

Thank you for your prayers and gifts as we have come from infancy to toddler status.  This year has been incredible!  And we look forward to many, many more years building the kingdom of God and seeing His glory manifested here on this earth.  God is good!!!!

The Chapel Service at Mooresville was awesome!  The youth group that worshipped God through dance and song touched every heart there.

Pray for the Church service at the ACDelco Virginia Nationals at Virginia Motorsports Park May 26-28, 2005.  Church Service will be held Saturday morning at 8:15 a.m. in the Grand Stands.  Pastor Star Scott will be the guest speaker.  Amy Zirou will be singing and leading in worship.  Everyone is invited.

Today I pray for safety in our travels,
success in the labors of our hands,
kindness and healing in the words of our mouths,
peace in our thoughts,
wisdom in our ways,
God's blessings in our every moment.

May you have enough
happiness to keep you sweet
trials to keep you strong
sorrow to keep you human
hope to keep you happy
failure to keep you humble
success to keep you eager
friends to give you comfort
wealth to meet your needs
enthusiasm to look forward
faith to banish depression
determination to make each day better than yesterday.

Peace, my friends. May you know God's complete peace - nothing lacking, nothing broken, nothing missing. God's whole best to you!
Godspeed,
Renee

PRAYER EVENTS FOR THE NATION AND THE WORLD
- posted by Peggie Bohanon
The 54th Annual National Day of Prayer will be held across America on Thursday, May 5, 2005. The theme, "God Shed His Grace on Thee," based on Hebrews 4:16, will launch a nationwide prayer event at school flagpoles, courthouses, businesses, public places and places of worship. Mrs. Shirley Dobson, NDP Chairwoman, says, "I can't think of a time when our need for God's healing intervention has been more acute than it is right now. Whether it be the ongoing threat of terrorism or the continued erosion of the moral and biblical principles upon which our country was founded, the challenges facing us are monumental." . Read a prayer for the nation[2] by Max Lucado, 2005 Honorary Chairman.

A separate, worldwide prayer event will be held May 5 through 15, 2005.
Learn about The Global Day of Prayer[3] , whose goal is "to unite the
global body of Christ, seek God's revival, and intercede on behalf of our world." The National Day of Prayer, listed above, and the Global Day of Prayer are two separate observances by two distinctive organizations, both calling the USA and the world to prayer.

Prayer Request & Praise Report

4-4-05  Subject: Update on Eric Allen
Hi everybody, thought I would update you all on Eric's condition.    He had his CT scan Wednesday, and unfortunately the Doctors are not able to do his surgery yet as they had hoped.   Although the tumors are shrinking, they aren't shrinking as fast as they had hoped so that they could do his surgery.   But  the tumors on his lung, have however disappeared, so that is some good news.   They are going to continue his chemo and radiation for 6-8 more weeks and then run another CT scan on him and hopefully the tumors will have shrunk enough to go in and remove them.   Please continue to pray for Eric and his family.   Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, and please don't forget to visit www.caringbridge.org .
God Bless all of you,
Lisa M. (Ellis) Ferguson

ERIC ALLEN IS A 14 MONTH OLD KIDNEY CANCER PATIENT @ CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL IN COLUMBUS OHIO. ERIC'S PARENTS ARE TONY AND MACIEL ALLEN.

ERIC'S PARENTS WRITE:  PRAISE BE TO JESUS, THE SPOT ON ERIC'S LUNG IS GONE. HOW EVER, THE ONE LOCATED ON THE RIGHT KIDNEY HAS ONLY GONE DOWN ABOUT TWO CENTIMETERS. THE THREE TUMORS LOCATED, ON THE LEFT KIDNEY HAVE WENT DOWN ENOUGH FOR SURGERY. BUT STILL THE DOCTOR'S DON'T THINK THE LARGER TUMOR HAS WENT DOWN ENOUGH, FOR SURGERY. THEY WILL CONTINUE TO DO THE CHEMO TREATMENT'S ONCE A WEEK. THEY WILL DO ANOTHER CT SCAN IN SIX TO SEVEN WEEKS AND SEE IF THE SIZE HAS WENT DOWN ENOUGH, TO DO SURGERY. BUT I TRULY THANK GOD FOR THE DISAPPEARANCE OF THE SPOT, ON THE LUNG. THANK EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU WHO HAVE VISITED THE WEBSITE AND WHO CONTINUE TO PRAY, FOR MY LITTLE MAN, ERIC. I DO BELIEVE THAT THROUGH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE. UNTIL NEXT TIME, THANK YOU FOR YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS.

What an awesome and mighty God we serve!  Gary just called me from the Rockingham Pro Stock Showdown where Dwayne & Christy (our daughter and son-in-law) are testing their new Pro Stock car.  Gary said that Donnie Crowder just walked into the trailer!!!!!!!!!!!  Gary said Donnie looked bad from the last time he had seen him but that Donnie looked great considering what he has been through.

Just last Friday, Debra had called asking for prayer because Donnie's white blood cells were plummeting and he had pneumonia.  God has answered prayers in a miraculous way.  Donnie is a race, with no tumors, and has finished the prescribed treatments.

God is good.  God is great!  Praise Him for all He had done and will do.

Have a blessed and glorious Easter as we celebrate the Resurrection of Christ that put an end to death and sin for those who believe and accept!

The Chapel Service at Farmington Pro Am was awesome!  The contemporary Christian Band, Rock Solid, held a concert on Saturday night during the hospitality event co-hosted by God Speed Ministry and Farmington Dragway.  Then the band started at 9:30 Sunday morning leading in praise and worship.

Brad McBride, the band drummer, also gave the message during the service.  It was such a testimony that his scripture spoke about trials and tribulations because the band's head blew up (literally with smoke and smell) just moments before the 9:30 start.  Gary Bingham hustled to get the PA head from God Speed Ministry and the band went on and God was glorified.

Renee Bingham had the scripture for Palm Sunday from Luke 19: 28 where the Pharisees told Jesus to tell his disciples to be quiet.  Jesus replied that if the  people were to keep silent, then the very rocks would cry out with his praise.  We would be not quiet this day, we would praise the Lord!

Clay Bullard closed the service singing "Crucified With Christ."  The invitation was given and lives were changed.  Seven people accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior.  The angels in heaven rejoiced with us as God was blessed and His kingdom grew.

We praise the Lord for His movement in the chapel services and for changing lives.  God is good!!!  And His offer is for everyone.  Praise the Lord!

Also pray for the Farmington Pro Am Event, the Jr. Dragster Nationals in San Antonio and for RFC at the Gator Nationals all this weekend, March 18 - 20, 2005.

He just found out today that he also has a "low-density mass" on his thyroid and he's going in tomorrow morning to have it tested. Pray for Mike and his wife B.J. They are special friends and I know they need all of our prayers. I believe Mike's 53 or 54 years old.

Duck Flies South for the Winter
February 10, 2005

Madison, Ohio - The Duck Tape brand duct tape team's Hot Rod Chevelle recently received its fresh lettering for the 2005 season, and driver Matt Zapp is getting a head start in the running for the World Championship.  The Duck is literally flying south to IHRA Division 2's Mr. Gasket Pro-Am Tour double-header season opener, in Immokalee, Fla., this weekend, February 11-13, 2005.

With his Hupertz Engineering BBC under the hood, APD Carb, K&N Filters straightening the flow, Abruzzi Racing Transmission shifting the gears, and fresh Mickey Thompson rubber, the 2003 Motor City Nationals winner exudes the confidence that comes from having the best equipment.

The season opener at Immokalee also heralds the new season for God Speed Ministry.  Zapp was chosen as the IHRA Division 3 Chaplain for God Speed.  He'll have the opportunity to meet Division 2 Chaplain Joe Sannutti.  It's just one more reason the Immokalee double-header will be a great race!  One weekend, two races, and two chaplains!  Please join your fellow racers at the God Speed Ministry services Sunday morning for a fresh start, and enjoy the camaraderie!

GOD SPEED MINISTRY BECOMES OFFICIAL MINISTRY OF IHRA

PRESS RELEASE – November 16, 2004

“To everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven.”  Life has its seasons.  Change is in inevitable.  And so it is in IHRA and ministry.

Jim & Judy Hartley and ICRA are moving on to other avenues and beginning a new season in their life.  But we here at IHRA owe them a great debt of gratitude.  They have served the IHRA family faithfully for nearly 2 decades by providing Chapel Service through ICRA on the national and divisional level.  They stepped up when called upon and served willingly.  We are eternally grateful and wish them well.

Over the years, many of you have seen  “To God Be The Glory” on our race cars and trailer.  You know that our faith in God is our sustaining and motivating factor in life.  We have seen God work in miraculous ways throughout our lives and especially this year.

God Speed Ministry was birthed through mighty movements of God.  In only 65 hours, God Speed Ministry received a name, a board of directors, a web domain and charter for non-profit corporation.  When I look back at all that happened so suddenly, I knew that God Speed was not only the name, but the speed at which God moves when He is ready to accomplish something.

The vision that God has given us for God Speed Ministry is vast and overwhelming from a human perspective but we know that it is God’s heart for His people in IHRA.  It is our vision to build a community of faith within the family of IHRA drag racing, its participants, sponsors, officials and fans. It is our desire that every person at an IHRA event be made aware of the salvation Jesus Christ died to purchase for them and to give them the opportunity to accept or decline that gift so freely offered to them. We also wish to build the faith and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ in those who profess Jesus as Savior. We want them to be aware of the inheritance that is theirs here in this life as well as in eternity. We want to help them walk in the abundance of life that Jesus came to give them, to experience the ultimate victory that every racer and person seeks.

Each division will have their own chaplain and will grow their chapel service to be uniquely theirs yet still an essential part of God Speed Ministry.  We realize that many people attend local divisional races but never attend a national event.

As God Speed Ministry establishes its presence and support within the IHRA family, we want to offer a CHILDREN'S JOY JUBILEE at the races. This will be a time of Bible stories, crafts and games. This will be open to all the children on the premises and will be staffed by volunteers from the IHRA family and the community churches.

In the coming years, we want to reach out to the youth of the communities where IHRA hosts a national event through Christian concerts and interaction with the stars of IHRA.

Much of this will be enhanced and carried out by volunteers who want to be God’s hands and arms to the children and youth of IHRA racers and fans.  In fact, much of this ministry relies on the participation from everyone who wants to be part of what God is going to do in IHRA.  The God Speed Ministry website,  www.godspeedministry.com will be the connecting link as together we make God Speed Ministry all it can and should be. You are welcome here.  Bookmark our site and visit often.

Renee will continue to work for IHRA in the control tower at national events while Gary & Lisa will continue to race in Top Sportsman and Quick Rod.  We will always be available to meet the needs of the people of IHRA.  You are welcome to seek any one of us out whenever there is a need of any kind.

We certainly appreciate your prayers as we move into this new area of ministry.    We pray that we are able to bless you and equip you to enjoy this journey called life as we travel together.

Godspeed,

Gary & Renee Bingham

John 1:1-5

In the beginning the Word already existed. He was with God, and he was God. 2He was in the beginning with God. 3He created everything there is. Nothing exists that he didn't make. 4Life itself was in him, and this life gives light to everyone. 5The light shines through the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.

Ephesians 4:3-6

3Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4There is one body and one Spirit–just as you were called to one hope when you were called– 5one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
