About Us
God Speed Ministry, Inc. was formed to provide chapel services where needed.
There is a great need for truth to be proclaimed, for God to be lifted up to
draw all people to Himself, and for people to know a relief and forgiveness of
their sins and a hope for a better future.
The name, God Speed Ministry, was decided upon Saturday, April 24, 2004 since
our primary focus is the world of motor sports and speed. The domain name was
registered on Monday, April 26, 2004. The non-profit corporation charter papers
were drawn up on Tuesday, April 27, 2004. God Speed Ministry, Inc. was
recognized in the state of North Carolina on May 5, 2004.
The application for recognition as a 501(c)3 corporation was mailed on
Wednesday, July 14, 2004 and was approved in November, 2004. We are a
501(c)3 nonprofit organization. All donations are tax deductible.
Vision
It is our vision to build a community of faith within the family of IHRA drag
racing, it's participants, sponsors, officials and fans. It is our desire that
every person at an IHRA event be made aware of the salvation Jesus Christ died
to purchase for them and to give them the opportunity to accept or decline that
gift so freely offered to them. We also wish to build the faith and knowledge of
the Lord Jesus Christ in those who profess Jesus as Savior. We want them to be
aware of the inheritance that is theirs here in this life as well as in
eternity. We want to help them walk in the abundance of life that Jesus came to
give them, to experience the ultimate victory that every racer and person seeks.
In the 2006, God Speed Ministry began its children's program at Divisional
events as well as at Nationals. This is a time of Bible stories, crafts and
games. This is open to all the children on the premises and will be staffed by
volunteers from the IHRA family and the community churches.
In 2006, we want to reach out to the youth of the communities where IHRA hosts a
national event. We will start with 4 national events and expand as God directs.
We want to provide a Christian Concert on Thursday evenings in the pit area of
IHRA. In conjunction with the concerts, testimonies of Christian race car
drivers would also offer Christ to the youth. These concerts would also be open
to all ages, encouraging the interaction between the IHRA family and the
community, sharing the love of God.
As God Speed Ministry increases its outreach and witness, we will become
interactive with the local churches in each community, providing an outreach to
the lost people of the world, proclaiming the power of God's love and the
direction of the true Way of Life.
