Hello from Chaplain Rich and Janette Guy

We are both very excited to be serving the Lord with God Speed Ministry. Racing has always been a passion of ours. Janette was dragging her ‘69 442 in Corpus Christi, TX in the late 60’s and I started racing at 17. Needless to say, we are both car people. But more importantly, we both have a passion for serving God where ever He sends us.

Janette and I work for Transport For Christ, an organization that serves the spiritual needs of the trucking industry. Janette is the Office Manager at the main office in Marietta, PA, and I am the Lead Chaplain at the TFC Frystown, PA Chapel. Maybe you have seen our Truck Stop Chapels in your travels. We enjoy taking the Good News of Jesus Christ to people where they work, live, and play.

Being of service to the racers in Division One is the type of ministry that we feel called to. We have a heart to share your lives and share God with you by praying for you, sharing the Word of God with you and answering your needs as best we can. We want to be here for you when you need us.

So please give God the Glory when we do something right, and let us know if there is something we can be doing better. Our door will always be open, and we look forward to seeing all of you at the track.

Godspeed,
Chaplain Rich

Rich Guy at Maryland Int'l Raceway Pro Am:  26 attendance, $598.00 offering.
Prayer Requests:  Marty Rinehart Jr. - chaplain with RFC has unstable liver readings, Troops, Marc Kinton injured in face, Dave Weaver - MIR worker.
Rich really enjoyed getting to know Marty and appreciated his help at the event.  It is great to see people who desire to serve God no matter the denomination or organization.
Janette Guy had 2 children for KOT.  She gave them shirts, each received a star for attendance and one earned a Bible patch.

PITTSBURG CHAPEL SERVICE REPORT  6-25-06

There were 35 people in attendance at Pittsburgh's church service. The track owners and event promoter went out of their way to help us all weekend. They were great.

We had preferred parking next to the pavilion area with power for the PA system. The announcer assisted us by promoting the service all day Saturday.

Michelle Michael attempted to hold Children's Church, but no other kids attended. NOTE: Sunday morning was very rainy and wet. Many racers packed up early and left, anticipating the rain out.

The offer totaled nearly $300 for the weekend. Those in attendance were very giving.

New York Int'l Raceway Chapel Service 6-11-06
Good News is that Sunday's service was God inspired.  Three live songs were performed by Curt Rochan. The mic stand and the cordless worked great. There were about 22-25 people total.

I met and prayed with two men following the serivice.  Bob and his son RJ are headed to the Cleveland Clinic this Tuesday for Chrones Disease testing. The trial with Isaac led to the new relationship with Bob and RJ. I got thier numbers and offered to visit RJ while he is at Cleveland. I saw the bigger purpose this weekend and it was AWESOME!

Bad News is that Dwayne Baker from JAMA lost a new motor. On the second pass in the car Saturday it blew up. But he showed great control and did not get upset. I was moved by his compassion to stay at the track and continue helping us. He is a God inspired man. JAMA has a good crew in the 8 people from NYI.

Pittsburg Raceway Church Service   5-15-05

This past weekend we had an extraordinary service! We had about 12 people last year and 40 this year! We had our first worship service. We handed out the words to the songs so the people could worship along with us. For the service, Pastor Star challenged everyone who calls themselves a Christian to not only come to chapel on Sunday, but let your life be a testimony every day at the track so that people can see a difference.

The offering was $118.00

MIR Church Service 4-17-05

At MIR we had a fabulous children’s ministry. We had about 75 people from our church come and do all kinds of activities with the children. We did face painting, crafts, songs, and skits. We had such excellent reception from all of the parents and children. There were three children that gave there hearts to the Lord. Overall we had about 50 children attend.

For our service on Sunday we had Amy Zarou and Larry Thomas minister in music for about 15 minutes before the service started. We had several people come early and listen once they heard them. There were about 35 in attendance, which is much better than the 10 last year. The message was fabulous!

Matt & Haley Zapp are celebrating the birth of Isaac Matthew Zapp on 3-2-06.  Isaac was born at 8:43 AM,  weighed 6 pounds 9 ounces, and was 19 inches long.  Mom and baby are both doing well. Praise God for the miracle of life!!!

Congratulations Matt & Haley!  Welcome to the world, little Isaac!

Would you like to be part of the chapel services?  We are looking for people who are willing to sing in the choir, lead or help with a children's ministry, do special music - sing or instrumental, help with chapel services in any way.  If you are interested, email us at support@godspeedministry.com and include the following:

Name

Phone number

Division

What you want to do and at which race or races

Your name will be added to the list below as we compile a  data base of resources for chapel services.  We will not include your phone number on the web but will keep it on file for divisional chaplains.

Each division will grow their chapel service to be uniquely theirs yet still an essential part of God Speed Ministry.  We realize that many people attend local divisional races but never attend a national event.  That is why each division will have their own community of faith and still be a part of the larger community of God Speed.

May God's richest blessings be yours.  May you know His peace (wholeness - nothing broken, nothing lacking), incredible love, forgiveness and abundant life on this earth and in heaven above.

John 1:1-5

In the beginning the Word already existed. He was with God, and he was God. 2He was in the beginning with God. 3He created everything there is. Nothing exists that he didn't make. 4Life itself was in him, and this life gives light to everyone. 5The light shines through the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.

Ephesians 4:3-6

3Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4There is one body and one Spirit–just as you were called to one hope when you were called– 5one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
